UK Regions
East of England
The East of England is the most easterly region of England and comprises six ceremonial counties, including Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. The East of England is also home to some beautiful coastal towns.
East Midlands
The East Midlands consists of six counties: Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Rutland. The East Midlands is also home to much of the stunning and historic Peak District as well as some beautifully quaint market towns.
Greater London
This region of England is made up of 33 districts, including the City of London; there are 12 London Boroughs and a further 20 Outer London Boroughs. Greater London is home to some world famous landmarks, including Big Ben and Buckingham Palace.
North East
The North East is made up of Northumberland, County Durham, Tyne and Wear and also part of North Yorkshire. The North East is where you’ll find the most northerly point in England, Marshall Meadows Bay, and also the recognisable Angel of the North.
North West
The North West comprises five counties, including Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside. The North West is home to a large part of the Pennines mountain range, the picturesque Lake District and also the iconic Blackpool Tower.
South East
The South East comprises seven counties: Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex, Hampshire, Kent, Oxfordshire and Surrey; it also includes the Isle of Wight. It is known for its beautiful coastline and stunning National Parks, as well as some famous landmarks like Beachy Head and Windsor Castle.
South West
The South West is the largest region of England, in area, and consists of Bristol, Cornwall, Dorset, Devon, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire; also a number of islands off the coast. The South West is home to the beautiful Jurassic Coast, quaint fishing villages, and delicious cream teas.
West Midlands
The West Midlands is made up of the six ceremonial counties – Herefordshire, Shropshire, Warwickshire, West Midlands and Worcestershire; it’s the home of Shakespeare and Cadbury, as well as a number of Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, including parts of the stunning Cotswolds.
