Ness Point
Lowestoft, Suffolk
Ness Point (or Lowestoft Ness) is the most easterly point of the United Kingdom, located in Lowestoft, Suffolk. It is the first place in entire British Isles to witness the sunrise every morning and it is 364 miles from Land’s End, the most westerly point in England.
The seafront is a very peaceful location for a walk or run and obviously a perfect place to watch the sunrise. Take a look at the Euroscope there, as it shows the distance between this point and a variety of other well-known locations over the UK and Europe.
It is popular amongst car enthusiasts as it’s the end point of ‘Race Against the Sun‘. The race occurs on the shortest night of the year, beginning at Land’s End and ending at Ness Point.
