Land's End
Penzance, Cornwall
Land’s End, located in Cornwall, is the most westerly point of England and a landmark full of family-friendly activities. You’ll find plenty of things to explore, great eateries and also a wonderful farm. If you are travelling from a distance, then there are accommodation options, including the Land’s End Hotel, Penwith Studios or Saddle and Stablerooms. While you are visiting, don’t forget to locate the iconic signpost, which shows the distance from Land’s End to other landmarks; this includes the most northerly point of the UK mainland, John O’Groats.
John O’Groats is about 603 miles as the crow flies. If you were to drive the distance, then it would be over 800 miles, but makes for an exciting road trip through the UK. Land’s End is also the starting point for another road trip, Race Against the Sun; this begins at sunset and the aim is to reach the most easterly point of England (Ness Point) before the sunrise on the shortest night of the year.
