Hunstanton Beach • A World Wanderer

Hunstanton

Hunstanton, Norfolk

Hunstanton is a stunning seaside town in Norfolk, home to the famous striped cliffs and glorious sandy beaches. If you’re searching for some quiet time or some family time, Hunstanton has it all. There are two areas, Old Hunstanton and New Hunstanton, both equally beautiful, but very different vibes.

Old Hunstanton is the quieter of the two areas, so a perfect location to just sit and listen to the soothing sounds of The Wash or for someone who wants a relaxing stroll past the fossil rich, red and white striped cliffs. And don’t forget to bring the dog — Old Hunstanton Beach welcomes dogs all year round.

Alternatively, New Hunstanton is much more vibrant with plenty of eateries, arcades and other family-friendly entertainment. You’ll find a wonderful amusement park that the kids (and big kids) will love, called Rainbow Park; then a little further down the coast, you’ll come across the Hunstanton Pier Family Entertainment Centre, complete with an incredible arcade and a bowling alley. And of course, no seaside town would be complete without pubs and bars, so there’s plenty for the adults to enjoy too!

Where to eat

If you’re planning on taking a trip to Old Hunstanton Beach, I’d recommend heading to the Old Town Beach Cafe — perfect for a quick bite to eat or something more substantial. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and will welcome the whole family, including the dog!

For a trip to New Hunstanton Beach, I’d head to Henry’s of Hunstanton fish and chip shop who offer a dine in or takeaway service, followed by a short walk round the corner to the Hunstanton Ice Cream Company, where they make their own ice cream; you will be spoilt for choice with their incredible flavours.
