Dunrobin Castle

Sutherland (The Highlands), Scotland

Dunrobin Castle is an impressive 19th century castle with an astounding 189 rooms, located in the north east of Scotland and situated right on the coast. This enormous stately home is owned by the Sutherland family, as it has been since at least the 1200s, although, the castle in its current from was designed and built in the 1800s. The castle was designed by architect Sir Charles Barry and his remodel was complete in around 1845.

A visit to the castle involves exploring within the castle walls, strolling the wonderfully landscaped gardens and a fascinating trip to the castle museum to learn everything you need to know about Dunrobin Castle. If that was not enough, enjoy the spectacular falconry displays, visit the castle shop, or even relax in the tearoom; Dunrobin Castle is well worth a visit and it is sure not to disappoint. For visitors with limited mobility it would be worth contacting the castle to find out more about what is in place for you, or which areas of the grounds may be inaccessible.
