Arria, Angel of the Nauld

Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire

Arria, Angel of the Nauld, was designed and created by Scottish sculptor, Andy Scott. She stands at 10 metres tall, weighs 7 tonnes, and faces towards the town of Cumbernauld overlooking the M80. She is known to be described as the ‘metal mermaid’ and was opened to the public in 2011 by Anne, Princess Royal.
