Animal Lovers Days Out (in England)

As the summer is finally here and we are all looking for days out in the sun, then why not spend some time at some of England’s much loved animal parks. There are a number of safari parks, zoos and farms all over England, which make the perfect days out for families, couples, and just about any animal lovers. Here are some of my top picks for an animal lovers days out.

1. West Midlands Safari Park

Located in Worcestershire, West Midlands Safari Park is one of England’s best loved safaris; with an incredible 4-mile drive-through and some outstanding walk-through exhibitions, it’s easy to see why. Don’t forget, there is also a theme park for all to enjoy! One of my favourite things about this location: you can feed some of the animals directly from your car. This adds some extra fun for the kids too. For more information, take a look here: West Midlands Safari Park.

2. Yorkshire Wildlife Park

Yorkshire Wildlife Park is home to over 400 animals, including England’s only Polar Bears! Whether you like lions, tigers, or bears, this park has it all and it really is great fun for the whole family. Yorkshire Wildlife Park are passionate about care for their animals and they strive to promote conservation education for all. You can find out more about this park here.

3. Matlock Farm Park

Matlock Farm Park, located in the Derbyshire Dales, is great fun for the kids. Here you will find all your farmyard favourites, including: pigs, sheep and goats. Horseriding lessons are also a service provided at the farm. You can also pick up animal food from the shop there and feed many of the animals. Find our more information here: Matlock Farm Park.

These locations are perfect for any animal lover and great for your animal fix this summer; they are definite hits with the kids (and the big kids). Of course, there are plenty more animal parks throughout England. If you need more animal lovers day out inspiration, take a look below:

Safari Parks: Knowsley Safari Park (Lancashire) and Longleat Safari Park (Wiltshire).

Zoos: Chester Zoo (Cheshire), London Zoo (Greater London), and Twycross Zoo (Leicestershire).

Farms: Dairyland Farm Park (Cornwall) and Rare Breeds Centre (Kent).
